Very rare set of four chairs made of solid oak with a comfortable curved seating. The extraordinarily designed feet form a triangle on the back. Manufactured by Horgen-Glarus. Swiss Willy Guhl has made groundbreaking contributions in Neofunctionalism. Special popularity was gained through a beach chair made out of fibre cement. Teaching at the school for applied arts in Zürich for 40 years, he became its director in 1951 and promoted the compartment class of product design, a rarity in its type in Switzerland. The designs visibly cross paths with the designers Hans Georg Bellmann, Kurt Thut and Jörg Bally.
