This brilliant piece comes in perfect condition with high quality fabric covers and matching ottoman. The legs and nails have recently been reworked. Beautiful original Papa Bear Lounge Chair and Ottoman, designed by Hans Wegner. Manufactured by A.P. Stolen in 1951. Next to Finn Juhl, Arne Jacobsen and Borge Mogensen, Hans Wegner is one of the great Danish designers. Aftercompleting his degree at the Arts and Crafts School in Copenhagen he worked as draftsman for the architecture office of Erik Moller and furniture designer Arne Jacobsen before becoming a milestone in Mid-century Danish design.
