Very elegant console worked in mahogany. Simple and slim design with three drawers with brass handles. The style is rather untypical for Wormley and is more reminiscent of Asian design. Nevertheless a beautiful and unique piece. Manufactured by Dunbar. Wormleys collaboration with the company made him a household name for several decades. He was given a contract there under which he would produce two lines of furniture each year, one traditional and one modern. As such, his take on on modernity was a rootedness in historical influences with strikingly inventive breaches. His influence on US-postwar design can only be matched by names like T.H. Robsjohn Gibbings, Paul Mccobb or Estelle & Levine Laverne.
