Beautiful set of ceramic objects by the versatile artist Bruno Gambone from the 1980s. They vary in height and width. Each vase has a long narrow neck in contrast to the wide but still narrow body, which however looks equally elegant. The base colour is a warm beige, the relief detail comes in fresh green and blue sea tones. Gambone began experimenting with canvas and fabrics in the 1950s and developed his signature style that reminds of Lucio Fontana. In the early 1960s he set up in New York where he frequented the likes of Rauschenberg, Nevelson, Stella, Lichtenstein and Warhol. As well as painting and sculpture, he also worked in theatre and cinema, turning to ceramics and design later in his life.
