This Serigraph was originally an excerpt from a savings book from Thomas Bayrles series Sparbuch. It is reassembled through deformation of the original pattern and shows a family, most likely the thrifty family. Thomas Bayrle is a German painter, graphic and video artist with a rootedness in graphic principles. An important aesthetic element of his work is the concept of seriality. Much like US-American artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein or German Sigmar Polke, he takes the pictorial subject from the realm of consumer goods.
