Rare and valuable stool made of bronze, walnut and leather designed by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings. The elaborately shaped bronze legs are framed by a walnut base. The seat is made of high quality woven leather straps. Manufactured by Saridis. T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings is a UK-born architect, decorator, furniture designer, taste collector and thinker whose innovative post-war interior design ideas have shaped American interior design. In the emergence of the bourgeois American style in the formative years of modernism, the studied architect played an important role when it came to diverting popular taste from Art Moderne towards a genuine American modernism, which he shared with Paul Mccobb, Estelle & Levine Laverne and Edward Wormley.
