Tapio Wirkkala

Delicate floor lamp in white lacquered metal and brass by Tapio Wirkkala. The brass provides a magnificent reflection. The shape seems harmonious at first glance, yet is destabilized through unusual details. Height and angle are unlimited adjustable. Manufactured by Idman. Finnish designer and sculptor Wirkkala was a leading figure of post-war European design. His contributions include glasses for Venini and a fruitful cooperation with Rosenthal. His work is unique, but can in importance be compared to that of Finn Juhl.
