A marvelous example of "Artichoke" in perfect original condition. The design is from 1957 by famous Poul Henningsen. He used chrome for the inner diffuser, stainless steel cables and single copper leaves, which are arranged at different angles, so that it composes a dramatic and atmospheric form and light. The lamp retains a beautiful patina. Manufactured by Louis Poulsen. Apart from his groundbreaking contributions in Danish lighting design, Henningsen worked as an architect, writer, furniture designer, journalist and architecture critic. He was the leading architect at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. Poul Gernes, Preben Dahl and Simon Henningsen show clear resemblance to his work.
