This beautiful sculpture in black and yellow from the 1970s surprises with its outstanding dynamic. From each point of view the figure forms its own image. This makes it an exemplary work of the Belgian artist Pierre Heyvaert whose aim was to craft form, light and colour which he did through a process of experiment and study. Among other milestones in his career, he realized a monumental sculpture for the Quebec Pavilion at Expo'67 in Montreal. His work is reminiscent of constructivism, most famously represented by Kasimir Malewitsch, and specifically echoes the work by Bertil Herlov Svensson.
