Wonderful, extraordinary vintage Fornasetti box. It has a enameled metal cover with Fornasetti's iconic monumental architecture and a metal inner compartment. The bottom is red felt. Manufactured by Fornasetti Milano. The Italian painter, sculptor, craftsman and decorator was influenced by different eras, such as the Renaissance, Classicism and the surrealism of Italian art, creating a unique, eclectic style. Apart from his collaboration with Gio Ponti for Domus magazine covers, his work is closely linked to that of Aldo Tura.
