Coffee table from the middle of the century, designed by Paul Frankl. Eloquently shaped cork tabletop, on two wooden mahogany legs, each created in a rectangle. It can be used as a coffee table or as a bench. Made 1948 by Johnson Furniture. Viennese Art Deco furniture Designer Frankl set out to form a decidedly American form aesthetic when arriving in the United States in 1914. His pioneering work inside biomorphic design and novel materials such as corc veneer is a unique characteristic, but US-designers Edward Wormley, Robsjohn-Gibbings and Paul McCobb share other important form qualities.
