Paavo Tynell

Simple, beautiful ceiling lamp by Finland classic Paavo Tynell. Its light creates an inviting atmosphere through the fabric shade and is matched by brass elements. Manufactured by Taito OY. Tynell famously contributed enormous lighting chandeliers to Helsinkis main station. The years between 1930 and 1950 had Tynell being one of Finland’s most widely used designers for public space light fittings for public spaces. His collaboration with architect Alvar Aalto is one defining influence among others, beside namable examples like Ilmari Tapiovaara and Lisa Johansson Pape.
