This impressive highboard on long elegant legs by Ole Wanscher is an early example of his work from 1948. The interior offers three practical shelves on each side and four drawers beneath for plenty of storage space. The highboard is made of mahogany and stands on brass feet. Made by A.J. Iversen. We have a similar example in our offer. Together with Hans Wegner, Borge Mogensen, Finn Juhl and Arne Jacobsen, Wanscher's furniture belongs to classical Danish modernism, while he has dedicated himself to the preservation of analogies from e.g. English and oriental furniture art. It is characterised by its excellent craftsmanship and the translation of historical examples into an elaborate contemporary formal language.
