Plywood Chair in walnut by Norman Cherner comes on wooden legs and sculptural armrests. Manufactured by Plycraft in 1950s. The American Norman Cherner designed prefabricated houses and seating furniture from moulded plywood. He was a pioneer in this technique. From 1947 to 1949 he was a professor at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, where he focused on the Bauhaus movement. On recommendation of George Nelson, who headed furniture manufacturer Herman Miller in 1950s, Norman Cherner developed solid and affordable plywood chairs and Plycraft went into production.
