The glass reflector of this beautiful table lamp consists of two ellipses of etched glass surrounded by a thin brass ring. This model 1538 gives an unmistakable reference to the French designer Max Ingrand. The lamp is from 1955. In addition to design, the artist devoted himself mainly to stained glass. He created church windows and designed furniture, windows and glass engravings for private homes and public buildings such as offices, theatres and restaurants. From the middle of the 50's Max Ingrand became the artistic director of Fontana Arte. The company was founded in Milan in 1932 by the famous architect Gio Ponti, specialized in production of high-quality glass products for lighting and furniture. In 1967, Gio Ponti took over the management of Fontana Arte again.
