Two beautiful lounge chairs. The pleasant organic form has a remarkable look from both the side and the back. Manufactured by Forma. Martin Geisler moved from Austria to Brazil in the late 1930s anticipating the looming second world war. Him and Carlo Hauner, who had moved there from Italy, teamed up to found first the Galeria Artisanal which was later becoming Forma. The legendary firm was one of Brazils biggest names in furniture design and able to draw big names like Charles Eames, Mies van der Rohe and Harry Bertoia to Brazils furniture market as well as achieve an exclusive license for Knoll furniture. Despite their international outlook, Brazilian locals Sergio Rodrigues, Joaquim Tenreiro and Jorge Zalsupin show great resemblance to their pieces.
