Iconic slim and graceful wooden eat and tea table by Swiss Jürg Bally from 1951. Walnut tabletop. This model strongly reminds of a 1955 Side Table by US designer T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings, differed only by its adjustability from 40 - 70 cm for flexible living situations. Manufactured by Wohnhilfe, Switzerland. Bally worked at the offices of Alfred Roth and Le Corbusier before starting his own in 1953 in Zurich. The German name ess.tee.tisch is a a pun by studied architect Bally, reminding of the German term for aesthetic. Inspired by Hans Bellmanns Kolonialtisch, the Swiss furniture icon became his most famous piece and is on view today in the design collection of the Museum for Design in Zürich.
