Ilmari Tapiovaara

Ilmari Tapiovaara desk lamp in white lacquered aluminum with brass details. The white circular metal pieces gives a very homogeneous and soft light in its composing. Manufactured by Asko/Hienoteras. Finland-born Ilmari Tapiovaara is an important link in 20th century's international design. He studied industrial and interior design at the Institute of Industrial Design, the Helsinki Taideteollisuuskeskuskoulu. After graduating he worked, among others, in the studios of Alvar Aalto in London and Le Corbusier in Paris. He can be compared to Finnish time companions Paavo Tynell and Lisa Johansson Pape.
