Clear-lined, classic Herbert Hirche highboard with teak veneer corpus and three doors stands on brushed chromium-plated steel base. The design is from the early 1960s and it is manufactured by Holzäpfel. Bauhaus student Hirche was one of the most important post-war German designers, collaborating with Mies van der Rohe, Egon Eiermann and Hans Scharoun among others. This explains his allegiance to classical modernity throughout his working life. Having his intensely productive time between the fifties and seventies of the last century he became one of the central figures of the West German design scene being active inside furniture and interior design, architecture, exhibition design, university lecturing and association official.
