Herbert Hirche

Very rare set of eight chairs in cane on black lacquered metal frame with a delicately backwards leaning backrest. Manufactured by Wilde+Spieth. Hirche collaborated among others with Mies van der Rohe, Egon Eiermann and Hans Scharoun. After graduating as a student of Wassily Kandinsky and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe at the Bauhaus, he was one of the first professors for architecture at the University of Applied Arts in Berlin-Weissensee. His keen influence on post-war German design was also fueled through his professorship at State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart.
