Harvey Probber

Slender coffee table designed by American Harvey Probber. The wooden top and mahogany base are finished with with fine brass glides on the feet. Manufactured by Harvey Probber Inc. Autodidact Probber designed his first sofa at age 16, growing up in Brooklyn, New York. Despite his unsual career path, he became a fixed figure in US modern design. He was not a household name during his lifetime as his contemporaries Edward Wormley, Robsjohn-Gibbings or Paul McCobb, but is equally desired today.
