Greta Magnusson Grossman

Floor lamp also known as 'Grashopper' floor lamp in red lacquered metal base with brass details and rotating conical shade. Designed by Greta Magnusson Grossman who shapes are defined by animated geometries and lightness of form. Manufactured by Ralph O. Smith. Grossman was an extremely influential figure in Swedish design and architecture scene in the 1930s, so much so that her career quickly expanded to whole Europe and North america. Her influence is manifested today by being included in international exhibitions in for example the MoMa, New York and National Museum, Stockholm. Kerstin Holmquist, Carl Malmsten and Alf Svensson share her typically Scandinavian take on design.
