Beautiful console in cherry wood, designed by the famous Gio Ponti. The top is made of polished glass and offers a storage space underneath. The console has an unusual height, which only adds to the elegance of the piece. Simply a beautiful object. A second example in stock. From 1930 Gio Ponti designed lamps and furniture for Fontana and in 1932 he took over the management of the subsidiary FontanaArte together with Pietro Chiesa. Ponti was one of the founders of the important Milan Triennale and built the Denver Art Museum. Classics are his Superleggera chair for Cassina, his glasses and lamps for Venini or the coffee machine for La Pavoni. Together with Franco Albini and Ico Parisi, he had a decisive influence on the Italian design style of the 1950s.
