The Gino Sarfatti Modello 1063 was designed in 1954 for Arteluce. The most iconic piece of Gino Sarfatti collection is probably Mod 1063, a Classic floor lamp. The lamp featured a vertical fluorescent tube with a base that hosted an electromagnetic ballast. Early example from 1954. Manufactured by Arteluce. Sarfattis successful firm Arteluce set milestones in lamp and lighting design in mid-century Italy in experimenting with unusual materials. Young Italian designers such as Franco Albini, Gianfranco Frattini, Vittoriano Vigano and Marco Zanuso worked for his company and are widely renown today. His own designes remind of Angelo Lelli, Michel Buffet and Max Ingrand.
