This handcrafted Long Chair with a live edge wood slab armrest in walnut by George Nakashima is recently professionally restored by our workshop. This piece is manufactured by Nakashima Studio and sold with certificate of authenticity signed by Mira Nakashima. The double-curved silhouette is based on Charlotte Perriand's chaise longue, the belt weave on Bruno Mathsson's chaise longue. Typical of Nakashima was his combining traditional American and Japanese with modern style. Many of his designs show various influences, but one constant always remained: George Nakashima continously insisted to always work with the finest wood. American Studio furniture, Wharton Esherick and Sam Maloof show resemblences to his work.
