George Nakashima

This desk comes with a table top supported by a vertical panel on one side and a wooden box on the other side that contains three drawers. There are two more drawers under the tabletop. Handmade by George Nakashima, this is a beautiful, rare piece. His fantastic woodwork was of a high standard and combined traditional American and Japanese style elements in many ways. He worked for renowned companies such as Knoll International. Apart from the complex techniques and styles that influenced him, Wharton Esherick and Sam Maloof show similarities to his work.
