George Nakashima

This desk comes with a tabletop, held on one side with two legs and a wooden box on the other side, which contains three drawers. Handcrafted by George Nakashima, it has a beautifully shaped American Black Walnut top with an organic and subtle freeform edge. Manufactured by George Nakashima. His fantastic woodwork was of high standing and combined traditional American and Japanese style elements in many ways. He worked for renowned companies such as Knoll International. Apart from the complex techniques and styles that influenced him, Wharton Esherick and Sam Maloof show similarities with his work.
