George Nakashima

Handcrafted coffee table by George Nakashima has a beautifully figured walnut veneer top with an organic edge. The piece stands on four tapered dowel legs and can also be used as a bench. Manufactured by Widdicomb. His fantastic woodwork became of high renown, combining traditional American and Japanese style elements in manifold ways. He worked for prestigious companies such as Knoll International. Apart from the complex techniques and styles that influenced him American Studio furniture, Wharton Esherick and Sam Maloof show resemblences to his work.
