Finn Juhl

This object is an absolute masterpiece by the Danish designer Finn Juhl. The legendary chieftain's chair combines teak and leather and marks the highlight of Juhl's Career as a furniture designer, as well as a renewal of the Danish furniture design tradition. With its organic forms, the Lounge Chair frees itself from traditional functionalism in form, construction and material. In 2012, the Chieftain Chair received the Danish Design Award, Classic. Finn Juhl's imprint on Danish design can not be understated, he not only had great influence on for example Peter Hvidt, Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen and Borge Mogensen, but also on Danish Designs growing popularity worldwide. The chair originates from the property of Richard Gruner, co-founder of the publishing and media house Gruner + Jahr GmH founded in 1965.
