Engström / Myrstrand

Lovely Swedish coffee table model Micado that is made out of teak. Designed by Sven Engström and Gunnar Myrstrand. Manufactured by Tingströms. Branded manufacturer's and designer´s mark to underside. The designers where tied to the important Swedish furniture design company SMF Bodafors, together with Carl-Axel Acking, Sven Engström, Folke Ohlsson and Bertil Fridhagen. These designers built a strong base in the emerging mid-century modern style that would be able to combine quality with mass-compatibility. Like Carl Malmsten and Kerstin Holmquist, Myrstrand and Engström helped mold the distinctive Scandinavian Modern as its known today.
