This elaborate pair of occasional tables designed by Edward Wormley comes with a tabletop in slate, mahogany base. The proportions are particularly perfect and come on nicely modeled brass feet. Brass manufacturer´s label on underside. Manufactured by Dunbar. In 1931 Edward Wormley began working for the Indiana based Dunbar Company, a collaboration that made him a household name for several decades. In 1945 Wormley opens his own office in New York, staying on as a consultant to Dunbar. Some of his most famous pieces from this period are the 1946 Long John table and the simple 1948 Listen-to-Me chaise longue. The clear imprint of the time is also seen with T.H. Robsjohn Gibbings, Paul Mccobb or Estelle & Levine Laverne.
