Two oak and rush lounge chairs in an astonishingly unconventional shape. Manufactured by L'Equipement de la Maison. Charlotte Perriand is one of the most influential French designers and architects. Developing groundbreaking designs she started out working with steel, turning to her prominent rustic wooden drafts in a free form (Form libre) and arriving at a Japanese influenced style after 1940 inspired by her stay in Japan in that year. She collaborated closely throughout her life with colleagues Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret. The designs are both reminiscent of their and peer Jean Prouvés ideas.
