LCW chair by famous Charles & Ray Eames. The unusual organic shape of the dining chairs shows Charles & Ray Eames innovative use of lumber-core plywood. Manufactured Evans. It dates back to the famous designer couples' early experiments with three-dimensional lumber-core plywood deformation. Through their lifetime, they have contributed gravely to the development of US post-war design. In 1940, together with colleague and friend Eero Saarinen, they won the MoMA Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition. As with Saarinen, the close and interchanging lifelong relationship between fellow industrial designer George Nelson and Mies van der Rohe is clearly visible in their work.
