Charles & Ray Eames

Storage unit by Charles and Ray Eames with an open area in the upper section and two sliding doors in the lower section. The basic colour consists of beige, a red part at the back and a black piece at the side.The shelf comes in good original condition with patina. Manufactured by Herman Miller. Ray Eames and her husband Charles significantly have contributed to the development of US post-war design. In 1940 together with colleague and friend Eero Saarinen they won the MoMA Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition. As with Saarinen, the close and interchanging lifelong relationship between fellow industrial designer George Nelson and Charles Eames is visible in their work.
