Charles & Ray Eames

Charles and Ray Eames Coffee Table comes with black laminate table top on a metal base construction. The table is in good original condition with patina and is one of the early example of the production of this series. Manufactured by Herman Miller. Manufacturer´s label underneath and year of the purchase. Ray Eames and her husband Charles significantly have contributed to the development of US post-war design. In 1940 together with colleague and friend Eero Saarinen they won the MoMA Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition. As with Saarinen, the close and interchanging lifelong relationship between fellow industrial designer George Nelson and Charles Eames is visible in their work.
