Charming dressing table and stool with refined details. The teak veneer is in good condition. The table has a drawer and below the mirror another compartment which is served by a rolling mechanism. Made by Bodafor in 1972. Carl Malmsten is one of the most influential Swedish furniture designers of the post-war period along with Bruno Mathsson and Yngve Ekström. With the establishment of his own studio in 1916, Malmsten began to work as a freelance furniture and interior designer, and in the same year he won first and second prizes for the furnishing of Stockholm Stadshus. Malmsten shared both the great influence on Scandinavian design and certain aesthetic qualities with his Swedish colleagues Ekström, Kerstin Holmquist, Alf Svensson and Otto Schulz.
