Two exceptionally beautiful sculptural objects by the well-known Italian artist Bruno Gambone. A master of his craft can be seen again in this example. The selected earth colours seem to blur into each other and at the same time create a beautiful design on the surface. Gambone began experimenting with canvas and fabrics in the 1950s and developed his signature style that reminds of Lucio Fontana. In the early 1960s he set up in New York where he frequented the likes of Rauschenberg, Nevelson, Stella, Lichtenstein and Warhol. As well as painting and sculpture, he also worked in theatre and cinema, turning to ceramics and design later in his life.
