Lovely set of two vases by the versatile artist Bruno Gambone from the 1980s, different heights but visually the same width. The ceramic objects have a narrow neck and come overall in fresh, warm sea tones and are signed by the artist. Gambone began experimenting with canvas and fabrics in the 1950s and developed his signature style that reminds of Lucio Fontana. In the early 1960s he set up in New York where he frequented the likes of Rauschenberg, Nevelson, Stella, Lichtenstein and Warhol. As well as painting and sculpture, he also worked in theatre and cinema, turning to ceramics and design later in his life.
