Very well-preserved sofa with Mid-century classic teak wood details. Being a design legend of that era Borge Mogensen distinguished himself from the striking designs of his peers Hans Wegner, Finn Juhl and Arne Jacobsen through an affinity for functionality and appreciation of traditional craftsmanship values. Outstanding in this craft, he shared aesthetic tendencies of well-known colleagues. The spare geometries and lushly figured woods equal Mies van der Rohe and disciple Florence Knoll, differentiated by by a tendency to chrome steel for the frames and legs of their pieces. Some pieces display the same hefty construction and appreciation of natural materials seen in the work of Charlotte Perriand and Sergio Rodrigues.
