Andre von Martens

Stunning black burnished clay vase by German contemporary Artist Andre von Martens. A special characteristic of this object is the clay's close resemblance to wood. The pieces are reminiscent of the ceramic works of Claude Conover, whose style is inspired by pre- and early history. Von Martens teached at the „Académie Internationale de la Céramique“ in Genf, won the Price for form and function-aware design in Leipzig and the first price for design at the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin.
