Beautiful black burnished clay dish by German contemporary Artist Andre von Martens. The peculiarity is that the surface of the bowl looks and feels like it is made of wood, even if you hold it in your hands. A particularly special object that reminds of the ceramic works of Claude Conover. He is inspired by pre- and early history. Von Martens teached at the „Académie Internationale de la Céramique“ in Genf, won the Price for form and function-aware design in Leipzig and the first price for design at the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin. His ceramics can be compared of those of Martin Schlotz and Ettore Sottsass.
