Alvar Aalto

This gorgeous floor lamp is designed by the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. The lamp comes with an exciting lampshade in brass which covers the white metal inlay, the lamp stem is covered with black leather. This one is an early example manufactured by Valaistustyö. Alva Aalto was not only successful as an architect, but also with his furniture designs. He originally started designing lamps in order to adapt them to his architecture. His sense of lamp design is definitely comparable to his companion Paavo Tynell.
