LOU REED

After re-facing our new website, we were back on the beautiful pictures of Lou Reed. In autumn 2012, Reed exhibited his photographic work for the first time in Germany in our gallery. The works were black-and-white portraits of old people, city views, images with deliberate motion blur and landscapes with artificially alienating colors. The founding member of 'The Velvet Underground' has been photographing since the 1960s, inspired by Andy Warhol. In the same year, a new book was published, where the artist wrote in his foreword: „I am sure God must have had a Leica.“ In any case, we are delighted to have had such a beautiful and successful exhibition, of a special person, as was Lou Reed himself.
